Dr. Hong diagnosed and treated me for sleep apnea and he was very contentious in his follow-up. He called my home on a Sunday morning to ensure that I had gotten the correct equipment for my situation. Then, as part of my annual review visit, he asked whether I'd had a prostate exam recently and I said no. My GP had never asked that question or ordered the test. However the test results showed elevated PSA and Dr. Hong encouraged me to pursue follow-up with my GP. My GP advised "observation." I got a second opinion and a referral to a urologist who immediately operated. My prostate cancer was just millimetres from breaching the prostate membrane and invading my body. Had it not been for Dr. Hong's concern and encouragement, my life could have been considerably shortened.
